For Whale Watchers

About 2 hours. Easy

*This walk can also be lengthened to include Blue-bell Valley and Blue-bell Woodland*

Test your spotting skills with a walk along our cliff-tops. This route overlooks the Sound of Mull and Ardnamurchan; a well-known cetacean highway. Wander down to The Point for stunning views of Rum, the Mainland and the Outer Hebrides. From here, walk along the cliff line and down to Flat Rock, where you’ll have chance to scan the beach for Otters and seals from above!

White-tailed eagles can often be seen soaring over the forest opposite, as can the occasional Golden eagle. Sea birds such as the Cormorant, Shag, and Oystercatcher are frequent visitors. Marine life seen in this area includes Basking sharks, Minke whales and several different species of dolphin. On the way back you might even be lucky enough to spot the rare and lovely Marsh-fritillary butterfly.
